Abstract:
Farmer’s capacity most important together with priority of agricultural development base
on human resources. Only, farmer capacity have to high becames succesful and sustainable
of agricultural program. The research was carried out in Malang and Pasuruan district as
centre of vegetables in East Java Province. The main objective of the research are: to study
the level of farmer capacity and to analyze dominant factor have to effect on farmer
capacity.
The result of the research showed that: the level of farmer capacity have to low. There
have significant differences level of farmer capacity between in Malang and Pasuruan
district. The level of farmer capacity in Malang district was higher then farmer’s capacity
in Pasuruan district. Characteristic’s of innovation was determinant factors to develop
farmer capacity. It has significant effect to increasing level of farmer capacity. Agricultural
extension should be develop information to the farmer that differ between in Malang and
Pasuruan district. When the agricultural extension to make program has to be concern with characteristic of innovation
