Abstract:
Kendalsari Village is an area that has the potential to grow rice. However, the 80% rice cultivation process is still developed conventionally. In fact, the government has provided assistance for agricultural machinery, especially rice transplanters in East Java, including the Kendalsari Village area. This study aims to determine the level of adoption of innovation in the use of rice transplanters in rice cultivation. The research method used was a survey with 70 respondents and the data were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that the level of adoption of farmers' innovations towards the use of rice transplanters was in the medium category, which means that farmers were not fully aware of the functions, benefits and advantages of rice transplanters in rice cultivation. This low awareness is suspected by farmers who have not applied rice transplanters due to (1) lack of information in accessing the use of rice transplanters in the alsintan working group, (2) lack of knowledge about how to operate and use them directly on the land, and (3) education about the operation of the machine. still not enough. Referring to this, it is necessary to disseminate information on the use of rice transplanters. It aims to increase the capacity of farmers in order to improve their welfare through sustainable extension activities.
